Tickets are now on sale for the 41st annual CARTI Auxiliary Festival of Trees, a four-day series of holiday events, which are scheduled for Nov. 15-18 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson and Lt. Gov. Tim Griffin  join the Arkansas Children’s community to launch the Laboratory for Active Kids & Families at the Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center, 15 Children's Way on Arkansas Children's campus. The launch event takes place at 9 a.m., today, at the center.

Only the second of its kind in the nation, the child-focused lab will help researchers better understand the science of exercise, and how physical activity promotes health by observing children and pregnant mothers in fitness and physiology tests.

CARTI has named two new members to its senior management team, according to Adam Head, president and chief executive officer of the statewide network of cancer care providers.

Patti Moser has joined CARTI as vice president of medical oncology, while Jeremy Land will serve as vice president of radiation oncology.

MINDfest, a family-friendly festival celebrating mental health in Arkansas, will be held Oct. 21 from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at the Riverfront Park and Ron Robinson Theater, 400 President Clinton Ave. in Little Rock.

Vendors will host fun and engaging booths to show how mental health influences all aspects of life. There will also be hands-on activities for all ages, live music, food trucks, and opportunities to win prizes and giveaways.

At Ron Robinson Theater, prominent speakers in the community will present talks on trending topics related to mental health.

The MammoVan, a mobile mammography unit operated by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), will be at the Arkansas State Fair, 2600 Howard St., in Little Rock from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Oct. 19 to offer mammograms for area women.

To make an appointment, call (800) 259-8794. Walk-ins are welcome, but participants may experience a short wait.

The MammoVan regularly travels throughout Arkansas, providing digital screening mammograms, and breast care education.
