CHI St. Vincent Wound Care Center has received the Center of Distinction Award presented by Healogics. To earn the recognition, the center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 92 percent within 30 median days to heal.

Dia Barber, a Master of Health Administration student in the Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), has received the 2019 Albert W. Dent Graduate Student Scholarship from the American College of Healthcare Executives.

The American College of Healthcare Executives established the scholarship in honor of Albert W. Dent, the first African American Fellow of ACHE. The scholarship provides financial aid to minority students in the final year of a full-time health care management graduate program.

West Memphis native William Hawkins is the recipient of the inaugural Crittenden Memorial Hospital Foundation Endowed Scholarship, which was awarded at a ceremony earlier this month.

Angel Lopez-Candales, MD, has joined the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) as director of its Cardiac Noninvasive Laboratory.

He is also a professor in the UAMS College of Medicine’s Department of Internal Medicine.

Mercy Health Foundation has added two new board members to its 24-member board.

Joining the board are Tim Gossett, vice president, Walmart, Anheuser-Busch InBev, and Kerry Bailey, vice president, Walmart Enterprise Business Development-Global Leadership, WestRock Inc.

The board also elected a new slate of officers. Chair is Ashley Buchanan, executive vice president and chief merchant, Walmart U.S. eCommerce. Vice chair and treasurer is Pat Curran, former chief operating officer, Walmart. Secretary is Karen Parker, retired, Walmart Foundation.
