CHI St. Vincent Wound Care Center Receives National Award for Clinical Excellence

CHI St. Vincent Wound Care Center has received the Center of Distinction Award presented by Healogics. To earn the recognition, the center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 92 percent within 30 median days to heal.

“We are proud to announce the CHI St. Vincent Wound Care Center has been recognized as a 2018 Healogics Center of Distinction,” said Dr. David Foster, president of the CHI St. Vincent Medical Group. “This recognition is awarded to wound care facilities that achieve excellent healing outcomes, high patient satisfaction scores, and outstanding clinical performance. The dedication of Dr. David Dean, Paula Sargent, APRN, and the entire team is truly remarkable, and we are excited for the recognition of their efforts in providing exceptional care to our patients.”

CHI St. Vincent Wound Care Clinics are diagnostic and therapeutic centers designed to offer highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Leading edge treatments available include negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings, and growth factor therapies. The Center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound.

“This award recognizes the incredible work of our staff and leadership as well as their commitment to CHI St. Vincent’s healing ministry and mission to deliver compassionate care four our communities,” said Dr. David Dean of the CHI St. Vincent Wound Care Center.

Physicians, leaders and clinicians gathered Aug. 22 to celebrate the award.
