Two residents from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) have been selected for a prestigious fellowship in neuro-oncology, administered jointly by the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and the National Institutes of Health Neuro-Oncology Branch.

A maximum of two fellows per year are selected for the program, and this year, both are from UAMS.

One computer workshop — One-on-One Computer Support — and one computer class — Fundamentals for Beginners — will be taught in July for people ages 50 and older at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging.

The July schedule is:

- One-on-One Computer Support, July 3-31, Call for appointment.

- Fundamentals for Beginners, Mondays and Wednesdays, July 5-31, 10 a.m. to noon.

Arkansas Children's has named Michael Howard, BSN, MM, MSN, MHA, chief nursing officer (CNO) for Arkansas Children’s Northwest (ACNW). He will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operations of Nursing/Patient Care Services at ACNW. The announcement was made by ACNW Senior Vice President/Chief Administrator Trisha Montague.

AcademyHealth’s Annual Research Meeting (ARM) will be held June 25-27 at the Hyatt Regency, 601 Loyola Ave. in New Orleans. ARM is the largest national meeting of researchers and policy analysts who study how the health system works, what it costs, and how improvements can be made to the system.
