Members of the CARTI Searcy Auxiliary are set to bring a seasonal glow to the White County Courthouse on Dec. 1 and 2 as part of the group’s 27th annual Holiday Luminary Project, benefiting CARTI Radiation Oncology in Searcy.
Kristy King, MD, an internal medicine physician, has joined the Conway Regional Health System hospitalist team.
She has more than 10 years of experience in primary care medicine in various hospital settings.
“We are fortunate to continue to grow our team as we expand our hospitalist services in the area,” said Greg Kendrick, MD. “Dr. King is an experienced physician and we are happy to have her caring for our patients.”
The internationally recognized Forum for Shared Governance has announced it has awarded one of its first shared governance accreditations to Conway Regional Medical Center. Shared governance is a management model designed to ensure that clinical staff are the ones making clinical decisions at the bedside, while encouraging them to influence the resources that support them.
University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ (UAMS) Curtis Lowery Jr., MD, was presented with the Effective Practice Award from the Maternal and Child Health Section of the American Public Health Association.for his work in maternal-fetal medicine.
Arkansas has one of the highest death rates from stroke in the nation. In the United States, someone has a stroke every 40 seconds, and one in six people worldwide will have a stroke in their lifetime. The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) urges Arkansans to learn the stroke warning signs, since bystanders often need to act fast in an emergency.
