For the third straight year, CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs has received Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades’ highest rating for patient safety. As an independent national watchdog organization, Leapfrog assigns grades to all general hospitals across the country and updates those grades regularly. Three straight years of “A” grades recognizes CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs’ commitment to providing quality, compassionate care to patients and protecting them and their families from errors, injuries, accidents and infections.
Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia recently implemented an enhanced, state-of-the-art MRI technology for patients called Philips Ambition 1.5T Helium Free Operations MRI.
“This MRI is able to provide precise and quicker imaging results, all for the benefit of our patients in Clark County,” said Jay Quebedeaux, president of Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia. “With its enhanced features, the Philips Ambition 1.5T is also improving patient outcomes through a higher level of safety and reliability.”
Arkansas Children’s Hospital has hired Heather Cherry, DNP, MHA, RN, NE-BC, to lead nursing operations as senior vice president and chief nursing officer.
Cherry, who brings more than two decades of nursing leadership experience in children’s hospitals and academic medical center operations to the role, most recently served as assistant vice president of Nursing at Texas Children’s Hospital.
The Movement Disorders Clinic at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will hold a free cooking workshop for patients with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers on May 19.
The workshop, this time featuring a Mother’s Day theme including tea sandwiches, will be from 10 a.m.-12 noon in the Culinary Medicine Kitchen on the ground floor of the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging.
Five Sherwood Urgent Care Centers are now a part of Baptist Health Urgent Care. The urgent care centers in Maumelle, Russellville, Hot Springs, and the two centers in Conway made the transition on May 1.
Both brands are part of the Urgent Team Family of Urgent Care & Walk-in Centers. Baptist Health Urgent Care was formed in 2015 to expand and operate urgent care centers, furthering Baptist Health’s reach to communities with quality healthcare.
