More than 100 Arkansas college students learned how to perform various medical procedures on mannequins during a workshop to introduce them to careers in medicine. The event, held March 11 at UAMS, included the procedures of intubating, performing an endoscopy, performing a physical exam and working in an anatomy lab with preserved specimens.
These interactive sessions are part of the Minority Association of Pre-medical Students (MAPS) Conference at UAMS. The event targeted underrepresented college students and post-baccalaureate students interested in medical school.
