Sterling Moore has been named vice chancellor for Regional Campuses at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).

He was previously assistant vice chancellor for administration for Regional Campuses.

Moore succeeds Tim Hill who, on July 1, was named chief operating officer of UAMS Health System.

CARTI, the state’s largest not-for-profit multidisciplinary cancer care provider, has named Adam Head as president and chief executive officer (CEO) following a six month national search. With almost 20 years of leadership experience, Head has served as the chief operating officer of the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock since 2013.

Five computer workshops — One-on-One Computer Support, iPhone Texting, Facebook, iPad & iPhone and Online Banking & Online Shopping — and two computer classes — Fundamentals for Beginners and Introduction to Computers — will be taught in September for people ages 50 and older at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging.

The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are urging people to take steps to prevent West Nile virus infections. Outbreaks of West Nile virus disease occur each summer in the United States. The first two cases of 2017 were identified in Arkansas late last week.

Using yoga to help manage cancer treatment and recovery is the focus of a new pilot program being introduced in September at the CARTI Cancer Center in Little Rock.

Donna Terrell's Yoga Warriors Fighting Colon Cancer and CARTI will begin an ongoing, twice monthly series of free yoga classes for cancer patients, led by oncology-trained certified yoga instructors from Arkansas Yoga Collective.
