One of the newest treatments to hit both the rehab and performance worlds, Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training allows patients to effectively exercise their injured or healing muscles without using heavy weights. BFR training has been a longstanding countermeasure of the United States military for injured soldiers and more recently used with hurt professional athletes.

Arkansans now have access to the same restorative therapy at Baptist Health therapy centers, located at Bowman Curve in Little Rock, Maumelle, and Bryant.

Baptist Health has announced that its fifth urgent care center will be located in Cabot. The center is scheduled to open Dec. 11 and will be located at 402 W. Main St., next to First Baptist Church.

Baptist Health, in a joint venture with Urgent Team, one of the Southeast’s largest independent operators of urgent and family care centers, currently has urgent care centers in North Little Rock, Bryant, Jacksonville, and Benton.

CHI St. Vincent Morrilton has launched a partnership with Senior Life Solutions to better meet the unique needs of adults over 65 who are struggling with symptoms of depression and anxiety often related to aging. 

CHI St. Vincent Morrilton's Senior Life Solutions is an intensive outpatient group therapy program. Older adults may benefit from the Senior Life Solutions program if they are experiencing conditions that are common indicators of anxiety and depression in senior adults, including:

-Recently experienced a traumatic event

In observance of World AIDS Day, the public is invited to participate in free healthcare screenings from 4-8 p.m. on Nov. 30 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) 12th Street Health & Wellness Center, 4010 W. 12th St.

The center will provide free HIV testing. The testing will be available without needles, using a mouth swab. People also are invited to receive free health checks for blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose, as well as general physical examinations. Test results will be available at the event.
