Parents of babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will be able to be present and involved in their child’s hospitalization through creation of a Ronald McDonald Family Room, announced by UAMS and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas (RMHCA).
Arkansas Heart Hospital announced the addition of Dr. Anthanasios Stoyioglou to their El Dorado Clinic. Stoyioglou joins Angela Simmons, APRN, and the rest of the El Dorado team this month.

Dr. Steve Pu, who has practiced medicine in the Mississippi Delta for more than 35 years, was recently named director of physician relations at New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University.
In his role, Pu will work to create new partnerships and grow existing ones with hospital systems, clinics, and physicians in support of NYITCOM’s third- and fourth-year clinical education program. Pu will meet with potential adjunct faculty and build relationships with physicians to support the training of NYITCOM student doctors.
CHI St. Vincent announced the opening of the new Arkansas Neuroscience Institute, a destination neurosciences center that provides advanced neurosurgery care to patients locally, across the country, and around the world. Patients from 38 states and from all 75 counties in Arkansas have been treated in this comprehensive program that incorporates all aspects of neurosurgery and a full spectrum of neurological disorders.
