CHI St. Vincent announced that Dr. Syed Mustafa has joined the team of pulmonologists at the Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine Clinic in Hot Springs, and will begin seeing patients in July at the clinic, located at 1 Mercy Lane, Suite 401.

Healthcare Journal of Little Rock is transitioning to statewide coverage and will be the Healthcare Journal of Arkansas beginning with the July-August 2019 issue. “With the explosion of the state’s Northwest corridor and the importance of rural health, it was determined that a statewide Journal is not only appropriate, but needed in Arkansas,” said Smith Hartley, chief editor of US Healthcare Journals.

Excellence in treating stroke patients recently garnered two awards for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Stroke Program.

On June 7 at the Clinton Presidential Center, the American Heart Association honored the program with the Target: Stroke Elite Honor Roll and Get with the Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus award. The Arkansas Department of Health recognized the program with a Defect Free Stroke Patient Care award for the overall quality of UAMS’ stroke care performance.

Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) has been verified as a Level 1 Children’s Surgical Center by the American College of Surgeons through its Children’s Surgery Verification Quality Improvement Program (ACS CSV). ACH becomes one of only 17 children’s hospitals in the United States and the only hospital in Arkansas to receive this highest level of designation.
