Arkansas Children’s and Windstream are providing free community WiFi hotspots in parking lots of three Arkansas Children’s facilities to help families with children who are learning virtually during the pandemic.

“We hope by extending this service we can provide a convenience to the families in our neighboring communities,” said Marcy Doderer, FACHE, president and CEO of Arkansas Children’s. “Arkansas Children’s is committed to helping families find solutions that ensure their kids are learning and thriving through the pandemic.”

The 9th Annual Angel One 5K/10K hosted by Arkansas Children's Hospital Angel One Transport team was held virtually on Oct. 3.  

Every year, the Angel One Transport team makes 1,900 patient transports. Many of these patients are transported long distances to Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) for lifesaving care, but the cost of travel is often a financial burden to families. The funds raised will support the purchase of gas cards to assist families with travel expenses.

Baptist Health recently named Wendell Pahls, MD, as the healthcare system’s medical director of emergency and transfer services.

In this role, Pahls will focus on improving quality and efficiency in Baptist Health’s emergency medicine services systemwide as well as improving hospital transfer processes to better care for the people of Arkansas.
