As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has unveiled an online hub designed to equip parents and caregivers with resources that empower youth to develop positive mental health skills while fostering the confidence to reach out for support when necessary.

May is Better Hearing and Speech Month. This month, ADH wants to raise awareness about the importance of newborn hearing screening and language development milestones for children. Early hearing detection and intervention (EHDI) is key to preventing delays in children's learning language. Children begin learning language as early as two months of age, so it’s urged that every newborn receives a screening before one month of age.

New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Arkansas campus generated an estimated $44.6 million in economic impact during the 2022-23 fiscal year, according to a recent study conducted by Parker Strategy Group.

The project was completed on behalf of Arkansas State University and included an overview of the impact made by NYITCOM, which opened a location on A-State’s Jonesboro campus in 2016 through a private-public partnership between A-State and New York Institute of Technology.

The UAMS Institute for Digital Health and Innovation’s Brain Injury Program will host a virtual workshop on May 29 to connect anyone affected by a traumatic brain injury (TBI) to resources and support.
