The BHeart Healthy Screenings offered by Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock offer early detection to help prevent heart attacks, stroke, and vascular disease complications.
Offered the second and fourth Thursday of each month at the hospital, the heart screening is less than $100 and includes:
·CT calcium score (CT scan to look for signs of blocked heart arteries)
·Laboratory blood tests (Lipid panel – total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides and diabetes testing – Hemoglobin A1C)
·Electrocardiogram (ECG)
·Carotid artery ultrasound screening
·Abdominal aorta aneurysm ultrasound screening
·Blood pressure evaluation
·Body mass index (BMI)
Results are provided the same day and a cardiovascular specialist will review the findings at the end of the appointment. Participants must be between the ages of 30 and 85 without a previous diagnosis for coronary artery disease. These screenings are a service of the Baptist Health Heart Institute and are also offered at Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway.
