The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) 12th St. Health & Wellness Center invites girls ages 10-18 to participate on Feb. 3 in "The Confidence Project," which will cover topics from women’s health and social wellness to physical wellness and mental health.

The free, one-day class will be from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the center, located at 4010 W. 12th St. Lunch will be provided.

All mothers are welcome to attend with their daughters. Walk-in participants will be accepted on Feb. 3, but participants are encouraged to sign up in advance. To sign up, email theconfidenceproject.ar@gmail.com. Parents or legal guardians will need to sign a permission form and a photo release form for each girl.

“We are excited to host this event. 'The Confidence Project' is our attempt to provide young women with the skills they need to develop and mature in the most healthy ways, and we are excited to partner with the student creators, Jordan Fletcher and Sarah Martin,” said Lanita White, PharmD, director of the center. “We are dedicated to equipping these young women with nutritional, sexual, and social intelligence in the hope of empowering each to be bold in her passions and confident in herself.”
