Arkansas Children’s Supports Walmart/Sam’s Club Hurricane Harvey Fundraising Efforts

Walmart/Sam’s Club announced a pause in the in-store fundraising campaign for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals from Aug. 31 to Sept. 6. During this timeframe, Walmart and Sam’s Club fundraising efforts will be directed to American Red Cross relief efforts for those impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

Walmart/Sam’s Club is the largest national sponsor for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Funds at the local level are raised $1 at a time in grassroots efforts, spearheaded by associates, and supported by members of the community. Children’s Miracle Network funds raised in Arkansas, North Louisiana, Eastern Texas, and Oklahoma benefit Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, and Arkansas Children’s Northwest in Springdale. Last year, associates in this CMNH market raised more than $5.3 million for Arkansas Children’s.

“Our mission at Arkansas Children’s is to make children better today and healthier tomorrow,” said Vanessa Delgadillo, director of development for Arkansas Children’s Foundation. “Walmart and Sam’s Club have been loyal, generous CMNH partners for more than 30 years. We commend them on their relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Harvey, and share their concern for the health and safety of the residents of Houston. We are grateful to have partners who truly champion children--in Arkansas, and beyond.”

CMN Hospitals fundraising in Walmart and Sam’s Club locations will resume on Sept. 7 and run through Oct. 8.
