‘Strike Out Stroke Night’ is June 6

On June 6, a helicopter will land with University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) neurologist and AR SAVES medical director Sanjeeva Reddy Onteddu, MD, to deliver the ball for the first pitch of the game against the Tulsa Drillers.

Volunteers will answer questions about stroke, distribute stroke education materials, and throw brain-shaped stress toys into the stands. Stroke survivors will be honored. The inflatable Mega Brain model also will be on display for visitors to learn about the human brain, and see how stroke and other neurological injuries and diseases affect it.

The event is sponsored by the UAMS-led AR SAVES (Arkansas Stroke Assistance through Virtual Emergency Support) program, and hosted by the Arkansas Travelers.

Gates open at 6 p.m., and the game begins at 7:10 tonight at Dickey-Stephens Park, 400 W. Broadway St., North Little Rock.
