CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs Cancer Center Receives National Accreditation from ACS CoC

CHI St. Vincent announced that the CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs Cancer Center has been awarded accreditation by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC).

Accreditation by the CoC is given only to facilities that are committed to providing high-quality cancer care and successfully undergo a rigorous evaluation process in compliance with CoC standards. ACS CoC is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for patients with cancer by setting and raising standards.

“In the fight against cancer, providing excellent care is critical,” CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs President Doug Ross, MD, said. “This accreditation is a testament to the entire team at the CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs Cancer Center and their commitment to provide the highest standards of comprehensive, compassionate and cutting-edge care to cancer patients in our community.”

To earn CoC accreditation, a cancer program must meet CoC quality care standards and maintain excellence in delivering comprehensive patient-centered care. The CoC accreditation challenges cancer programs to enhance their care by providing all patients with a full range of diagnostic, treatment and supportive services either on-site or by referral, including community-based resources.

As a CoC-accredited institution, the CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs Cancer Center is also designated as an ACS Surgical Quality Partner. This signifies the center’s dedication to consistently improving procedures and approaches while maintaining a critical eye on its care process. The Surgical Quality Partner designation also distinguishes CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs for its commitment to quality, relentless self-improvement and adherence to the most rigorous surgical standards.
