The Arkansas Nurses Association (ARNA) will host its 2016 Convention "Culture of Safety" It Starts with YOU October 27-28 at the Arlington Resort & Spa Hotel in Hot Springs.
The Keynote Speaker will be Debbie Hatmaker, PhD, RN, FAAN - Executive Director, American Nurses Association.
As executive director, Dr. Hatmaker leads the implementation of ANA's strategy and plan to advance the association's comprehensive policy, advocacy, and national communications agenda. In this role, she is a key member of the ANA executive leadership team, which is charged with leading the implementation of the association's strategic plan.
Additionally, she has served in many elected and appointed leadership positions. These include president of the Georgia Nurses Association from 1999-2002 and first vice president of ANA from 2006-2010. The ANA Board of Directors appointed her president of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), where she served two terms from 2007-2011.
In recognition of her many outstanding accomplishments for the nursing profession, Dr. Hatmaker was inducted as a 2012 fellow in the American Academy of Nursing.
