With the hiring of Holly Hunter, MD, in Northwest Arkansas, Burrell Behavioral Health is now providing psychiatry services for children, teens, and young adults in the region.
Hunter comes to Burrell Behavioral Health with expertise in treating trauma, depression, and early onset schizophrenia in children and adolescents. She studied at Louisiana State University and Mississippi College before receiving her medical degree from LSU School of Medicine. She completed her residency and fellowship practices at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
“I believe that my job is to understand, educate, provide support (medicinal or otherwise), validate the human experience, celebrate successes, and encourage continued growth and self-exploration,” Hunter said.
“Dr. Hunter will provide amazing and much needed services that are hard to find in the area,” said Elizabeth Avery, president of the Arkansas region of Burrell Behavioral Health. “She is truly taking Burrell to the next level in providing comprehensive trauma-informed care for youth in Northwest Arkansas.”
