Vascular neurologist Abhilash Thatikala, MD, has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), where he mostly treats stroke patients.
Thatikala received an undergraduate degree in medicine and surgery in 2011 from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India, then stayed at the college to complete a medical degree in 2016, followed by an internal medicine residency.
During a neurology fellowship at Osmania Medical College, he moved to the United States for further training. He completed a neurology residency in 2025 at UAMS, serving as chief resident during his final year. Thatikala then completed a fellowship in vascular neurology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis before returning to UAMS, where he is an assistant professor in the College of Medicine Department of Neurology.

Thatikala sees patients at the UAMS Health Neurology Clinic, located in the Jackson T. Stephens Spine & Neurosciences Institute on the main UAMS campus. He is accepting new patients by referral.
