Smith, Englert-Jessen Join Methodist Family Health

Methodist Family Health recently promoted Amanda Bolls Smith, CFRE, to executive director of Methodist Family Health Foundation, and has hired Eva Englert-Jessen as its director of pastoral care.

Amanda Smith is a native Arkansan, born and raised in Little Rock. She grew up in Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. She graduated high school from Little Rock Central High and then from Hendrix College, with her BA, majoring in sociology and minoring in psychology.

Over the course of 21 years, Amanda has worked for several local nonprofits, raising funds and awareness for their missions. These organizations include March of Dimes, American Heart Association, Baptist Health Foundation, and now Methodist Family Health Foundation.

Amanda has been with Methodist Family Health Foundation for two years.

Rev. Eva Englert-Jessen is a third-generation clergywoman in the United Methodist Church. Her mother and late grandmother served as pastors in the Dallas area, where Eva grew up. In June 2021, she became an ordained deacon in the Methodist church, bridging the broader church with ministries outside of the local church context. She received a Master of Divinity with a focus on global and community engagement from Boston University School of Theology in 2017 and has served in numerous ministry roles inside and outside the church, including children's and youth ministry, faith and care for the environment, hospital chaplaincy, and college chaplaincy. 

She is a graduate of Hendrix College, where she most recently served on staff in the religious life program.
