Science Café Little Rock, co-sponsored by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), will hold its next public forum, The Science of Shock, on Oct. 23. Panelists will discuss the various types of shock that can result from physical injury, heart attack, allergic reaction, severe infection and more.
Science Café will be from 7-9 p.m. at Hibernia Irish Tavern, 9700 N. Rodney Parham Road.
This month’s panel will include Nhan “Marc” Phan, MD, assistant professor, UAMS Department of Emergency Medicine; Mack Hutchinson, quality manager, Metro-EMS (MEMS); and Phil Mayeux, PhD, professor, UAMS Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology.
Dorothy Graves, associate director for administration of the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, will moderate the event.
