Mercy Clinic Primary Care – Towson is at 4620 Towson Ave., at the corner of Phoenix Avenue. Mercy leaders, along with officials from the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce, city of Fort Smith and others, were on hand Jan. 29 to celebrate Mercy Fort Smith’s expansion to Towson Ave.
Fareed Kannout, MD, internal medicine specialist with Mercy, is moving his practice from Zero Street to the Towson Avenue clinic, with up to three additional providers expected to join at a later time.
“This is a very great moment for us and for the community of Fort Smith,” Kannout said. “We are very excited to be here. It’s been a journey – we had some rough times, bad days with the tornado, as you know. It was a bad time, but it’s turned out to be a good time because now we are moving this new clinic that is going to provide great care for our patients and the entire community.”
The clinic is about 6,200 square feet and provides primary care services such as wellness exams, flu shots and other vaccines, X-ray and lab services, and more.
Mercy Clinic Primary Care – Zero Street is now closed. Mercy has donated that building’s lease to the Good Samaritan Clinic in Fort Smith, which is expected to move into the facility later this year.
