The Hospice & Palliative Care Association of Arkansas (HPCAA) announced that it received a grant from the Arkansas Cancer Coalition in the amount of $37,132.32 to implement efforts that support the Arkansas Cancer Plan. This funding source will help to promote advance care planning, which is important to all cancer patients.
“ACC is committed to reducing the human suffering and economic burden from cancer for the citizens of Arkansas,” says Trena Mitchell, executive director. “By partnering with academic and community-based organizations, we can multiply our efforts by reaching those in counties with the highest needs. HPCAA is highly qualified to make an impact on reducing the impact of cancer by implementing the goals and strategies of the Arkansas Cancer Plan.”
“HPCAA is committed to increasing knowledge of and access to advance care planning resources and materials to overcome current barriers that may be impeding care,” says Lisa Vaden, executive director.
