CareLink Hosts Events Serving Area Seniors, Family Caregivers

CareLink, Central Arkansas’s Area Agency on Aging, announced partnerships to host community events on April 29 and May 10. Events are open to the public and offered at no cost to them. Partnerships include the Arkansas Senior Health Insurance Information Program (ARSHIIP), the Central Arkansas Development Council (CADC), Cornerstone Pharmacy, the Alzheimer’s Association, and The Elder Law Practice of Douglas R. Jones and Cynthia Orlicek Jones.

On April 29, ARSHIIP Day will be held at the Bryant Senior Center from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. A health and wellness event in partnership with ARSHIIP and the CADC, attendees will receive screenings for Medicare Savings Plans (MSP) and Low Income Subsidy (LIS) Programs that supplement the cost of Medicare Part D prescription drug plan. COVID-19 shots and boosters will be available, including pneumonia shots provided by Cornerstone Pharmacy. Interested individuals are asked to bring their proof of insurance and COVID-19 vaccination card. On May 10, CareLink will host their second Community & Family Caregiver Workshop from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. via Zoom. Teaming up with the Alzheimer’s Association and The Elder Law Practice of Douglas R.
