Caregiver Action Network Class Slated for Sept. 9 at UAMS

The Schmieding Home Caregiver Training Program of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will host a free “Caregiver Lunch & Learn” workshop on Sept. 9 for caregivers who want to learn the newest information about caregiving.

The workshop will be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Jo Ellen Ford Auditorium at the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging, 629 Jack Stephens Drive. Trainers from the Caregiver Action Network will instruct participants on using caregiver tools, creating patient- and family-centered goals in caregiving, and engaging in shared decision-making. Trainers will also review comparative research on effective caregiving.

Although there is no cost to attend, registration is required, and space is limited. Lunch and caregiver kits will be provided. A $75 gift card will be awarded to one of the registrants who signs up for the class before Aug. 25. A $75 gift card also will be awarded to registered attendees who complete the pre- and post-workshop surveys.

To register for the event, email NGoble@CaregiverAction.org .
