Two new cardio physicians recently joined the team at CHI St. Vincent and Heart Clinic Arkansas. In July, Thurston Bauer, MD, joined the CHI St. Vincent Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic, located at 5 St. Vincent Circle, Suite 503. In August, cardiologist Muhammad Waqas, MD, joined the CHI St. Vincent Heart Clinic Arkansas, located at 10100 Kanis Road.

This program is for patients with advanced heart failure who are awaiting a heart transplant. The LVAD may even be a permanent solution for patients who are not eligible for a heart transplant.
Dr. Bauer received a bachelor of arts degree from Colorado College and his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed his residency in integrated cardiothoracic surgery at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Dr. Waqas attended medical school at King Edward Medical College in Pakistan and completed his residency at New York Medical College. He served as a fellow at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis and Marshall University in West Virginia.
