Baptist Health Urgent Care Announces Jacksonville Location

Baptist Health continues to expand access to healthcare by announcing the opening of its third urgent care center, which will be located at 1813 T. P. White Dr. in Jacksonville, across 167 from Wal-Mart.

Baptist Health, in a joint venture with Urgent Team, one of the Southeast’s largest independent operators of urgent and family care centers, currently has urgent care centers in North Little Rock and Bryant.

“We’re very excited to expand urgent care services to the residents in Jacksonville,” said Troy Wells, president and CEO of Baptist Health. “Providing convenient access and affordable care for urgent, but non-emergency needs, is a strategic focus we are intent on providing in Arkansas.”

The new urgent care center in Jacksonville opens Jan. 30 and will provide urgent and family care, as well as wellness services on a walk-in basis. Primary care providers Chad Sherwood, MD and Pamela Speed, nurse practitioner, will lead the team. Dr. Sherwood currently serves as Urgent Team’s Chief Medical Officer in Arkansas. Nurse Practitioner Speed has more than 25 years of experience in rural healthcare and most recently worked at Sherwood Urgent Care in Searcy, an affiliate of Urgent Team.

Baptist Health’s ex pansion into urgent care provides unscheduled access to care for patients, as well as supports Baptist Health physicians who want to provide an after-hours option to their patients.

Baptist Health Urgent Care-Jacksonville is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Most insurance plans, including TRICARE, Medicare and Medicaid, as well as cash and credit card are accepted.
