The Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care (AFMC) has elected Alan Wilson, MD, of Crossett to serve on its board of directors during its board meeting July 29.
Entrepreneurs, investors, research scientists, service providers, and the public interested in technology companies that develop products to improve people’s lives and health are invited to the Arkansas Life Sciences Summit to be held Oct. 19 in Conway.
The MammoVan, a mobile mammography unit operated by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), will be at the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. Oct. 14-15 to offer mammograms for area women.
Appointments are requested in advance by calling (800) 259-8794. Walk-ins are welcome, but may require a short wait. The MammoVan’s services at the fair are offered in conjunction with the Arkansas Cancer Coalition.
Amanda L. Golbeck, PhD, MPH, has been named associate dean for academic affairs for the Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).
Sheldon Riklon, MD, one of only two Marshallese physicians in the world who has completed medical school and residency training from U.S.-accredited programs, has been invested as the inaugural holder of the Peter O. Kohler, MD, Endowed Distinguished Professorship in Health Disparities.
