Neurologists Tim Freyaldenhoven and Keith Schluterman have combined their practices into a partnership with Conway Regional Health System to form the Conway Regional Neuroscience Center. Previously the two physicians operated Arkansas Neurology in Conway. 

The Conway Regional Neuroscience Center opened on Feb. 20 and is located in suite 305 on the third floor of the Conway Regional Medical Plaza at the same location as the physicians’ clinics. Current patients should expect few changes.

Stephen “Steppe” Mette, MD, has been named executive associate dean for clinical affairs in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).

Mette will also continue his role as chief clinical officer for UAMS Medical Center.

A University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) educator caught the attention recently of BuzzFeed, a global media company, for using Snapchat to engage his medical students.

BuzzFeed produces and distributes original news, entertainment and video, reaching a global audience of over 7 billion content views.

Jerad M. Gardner, MD, is an assistant professor of pathology and dermatology in the UAMS College of Medicine.

One computer class (Introduction to Windows 10)  and four workshops (One-on-One Computer Support, Introduction to Windows 10 Photos, Computer Maintenance and File Management) will be taught in April for people ages 50 and older at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging.

Courses begin April 3. The schedule is:

·  One-on-One Computer Support, Mondays and Wednesdays, April 3-26, Call for appointment.

·  Introduction to Computers Windows 10, April 4-27, 1-3 p.m.

Science Café Little Rock, co-sponsored by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), will hold its next public forum, Riding the Gravitational Waves, on March 28. Panelists will discuss particle interactions involved in galaxy formation and how gravitational waves, binary stars and black holes are created.

Science Café will be from 7-9 p.m. at Whole Hog Café, 12111 W. Markham St. Science Café is a relaxed opportunity for monthly exchanges with various experts. No reservations are needed, but seating is limited. Admission is free.
