Nursing students at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock are receiving a more realistic nursing education in the Center for Simulation Innovation thanks to a grant from the Roy & Christine Sturgis Charitable Trust.
The Roy & Christine Sturgis Charitable Trust has awarded a grant of $25,000 to the University of Arkansas Foundation for the Center for Simulation Innovation in the UA Little Rock School of Nursing. The grant provided funding for the Center for Simulation Innovation to purchase EchoMasks to diversify the educational experience for nursing students.
Arkansas Children’s will welcome veteran healthcare executive Rustin Morse, MD, to the role of senior vice president and chief administrator for Arkansas Children’s Northwest (ACNW).
Morse, who will begin at ACNW in July, has spent his career serving large, multihospital pediatric health systems in leadership roles including chief quality officer and chief medical officer.
James “Jim” Wallis and Patricia “Pat” Wallis pledged $500,000 to create the James and Patricia Wallis Professorship in Radiation Oncology in the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Medicine’s Department of Radiation Oncology.
CHI St. Vincent announced that Interventional Cardiologist Anthony Fletcher, MD, has been named president of the Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC). The association formally installed Fletcher as president at its spring 2024 Membership Meeting earlier this month in Atlanta.
