Northwest Health welcomes board-certified, fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist Christopher A. Menendez, MD, FACS, to the medical staff, practicing at Northwest Breast Care Associates.

Menendez practices the surgical treatment of breast disease, specifically breast cancer. In practice for more than 15 years, Menendez was the first surgeon in the state of Arkansas to use a non-radioactive wire-free localization system during breast conservation surgeries.

Baptist Health and Caregility announced an expanded partnership aimed at enhancing patient care across the Arkansas-based healthcare organization. 

Baptist Health will enhance its bedside care teams by increasing its usage of Caregility intelligent telehealth devices to more than 700 bedsides system-wide, doubling the footprint of the healthcare organization’s inpatient telehealth services. The initiative adds virtual clinical resources to support in-person bedside care and help improve patient outcomes.

CARTI recently welcomed J. Scott Cordova, MD, PhD, to its radiation oncology team. Now seeing patients at the CARTI Cancer Center in Little Rock, Cordova specializes in high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, a minimally invasive method of radiation treatment that places radioactive sources close to or within tumors.

The Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH) Auxiliary announced a record-breaking donation of $1.55 million from its annual fundraising efforts over the past year. This contribution marks the 14th consecutive year the ACH Auxiliary has raised more than $1 million for the hospital, and it stands as the largest gift in the Auxiliary's 57-year history.
