The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), in collaboration with Arts Integration Services, is offering free music workshops for patients with neurodegenerative disorders beginning Oct. 26.

All the workshops will be held on Wednesdays from noon to 12:30 p.m. in the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging, Room G1180-1190, at 629 Jack Stephens Drive in Little Rock.

The dates for the workshops are Oct. 26, Nov. 2 and 16, Dec. 7 and 21, Jan. 4 and 18, March 1 and 15, April 5 and 19, May 3 and 17, and June 7 and 21.

CHI St. Vincent announced that Morgan Storey, APRN, has joined the CHI St. Vincent Urogynecology Clinic in Little Rock. Storey, who specializes in urogynecology, joins the clinic’s team of healthcare professionals providing evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions that affect female pelvic organs. The clinic is located at 5 St. Vincent Circle, Suite 300 in the Blandford Building in Little Rock.

Paul Park, MD, a Memphis neurosurgeon specializing in spine surgery, will discuss advances in spinal neurosurgery at a public lecture Nov. 4 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).

The lecture, entitled “Evolving Surgical Treatment Paradigms for Adult Spinal Deformity,” is part of the Flanigan-Boop Endowed Lectureship in Spinal Neurosurgery, and will begin at 5 p.m. in the Fred Smith Auditorium on the 12th floor of the UAMS Jackson T. Stephens Spine Institute. It will be followed by a reception.

The Arkansas Minority Health Commission has awarded $26,000 in scholarships to 28 minority students pursuing careers in healthcare and public health for the Fall 2022 school semester.

Part-time students receiving scholarships are Sir-Jason Monroe, Valissia Batemon, both of Conway; and Taylor Thompson and Vivian White, both of Little Rock.
