In a major boost to cardiovascular research, the National Institutes of Health has awarded an additional $3.7 million to Shengyu Mu, PhD, and his team of researchers at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) to continue their groundbreaking study on the role of immune cells in hypertension.
The Arkansas Children's Northwest (ACNW) Auxiliary has committed $3 million to support the expansion initiatives at ACNW.
Since its establishment in 2022, the ACNW Auxiliary, consisting of 130 members, has played a pivotal role in providing support to patients and families through various fundraising events and projects. During their June year-end meeting to commemorate the accomplishments of the 2024 fiscal year, Toni Lindsey, president of the auxiliary, revealed that the auxiliary had achieved a record-breaking fundraising amount of $333,387.
Arkansas Children’s is promoting longtime leader Ryan Solomon, JD, MPS, to senior vice president of hospital operations for Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) in Little Rock. He began his new role on June 24.
CHI St. Vincent announced that its Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic providers will consolidate with the endocrinology providers at CHI St. Vincent Little Rock Diagnostic Clinic (LRDC). Likewise, its Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine Clinic providers will consolidate with the pulmonology providers at LRDC. Both clinics will be moving and will now be located within CHI St. Vincent Little Rock Diagnostic Clinic. The move to one central location for both specialties allows patients a single solution for specialty services, imaging, laboratory services, and infusion.
Baptist Health/UAMS Thoracic Surgery is now located within UAMS Baptist Health Cancer Clinic-Little Rock on the Baptist Health campus, off Interstate 630. The clinic is at the Hickingbotham Outpatient Center, 9500 Kanis Road, Suite 500.
