Conway Regional Health System became the owner and manager of Conway Regional Medical Clinic-Pottsville, effective Oct. 14. While the name of the clinic has officially changed from the Pottsville Primary Care Clinic, the staff will remain the same.
Arkansas Children’s Hospital opposes a ballot initiative aimed at legalizing medical marijuana in the state. The position is consistent with recommendations made last year by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Marijuana has been linked to negative health outcomes in children, including psychological disorders, poor lung function and an increased risk of substance abuse later in life.
The Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board today approved a Doctor of Occupational Therapy program to be jointly operated by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville (UA).
Ladly Abraham, MD, a pulmonologist, has joined the medical staff of Conway Regional Health System. Dr. Abraham recently moved his practice to Conway. His new clinic, Central Arkansas Lung is now located at 650 United Drive, Suite 200 in Conway and is accepting new patients.
The Schmieding Home Caregiver Training Program of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will hold a free family caregiver workshop Nov.16 for those who would like to learn about caring for an adult with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
The workshop will be held 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging at 629 Jack Stephens Dr.
