The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) opened a walk-in, after-hours orthopaedics clinic — OrthoNow — on April 3 at the UAMS Orthopaedics Clinic at 600 Autumn Road.

OrthoNow will be open 5-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. - noon Saturdays for general orthopaedics issues. Patients will not need to call in advance to schedule an appointment.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) experts spoke about the latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson’s disease and Parkinson’s Plus syndrome at their third annual Parkinson’s Symposium on April 2.

Subjects included alternative therapies, social needs and caregiving, fitness, Tai Chi and deep brain stimulation.

Erika Petersen, MD, and other UAMS speakers were featured during the event which was held in the Jo Ellen Ford Auditorium at the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging.
