The South Central Telehealth Resource Center at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has received a three-year grant totaling $975,000, renewing its funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), part of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
It marks the third time the HRSA administration has renewed its financial support since 2010, when it first supplied funding to establish the resource center, which serves the south central states of Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

Unity Health welcomes Shannon Swift, MD, to the local medical community. Swift will begin practicing in mid-August at Unity Health — Red River Family Medicine at 175 Volunteer Parkway in Clinton, Ark. She will provide patient care in the areas of family, internal, and pediatric medicine.
Urologist Robbie Hurtt, MD, has joined the Conway Regional medical staff, and is in practice with Drs. James France and Jeffrey Marotte at Arkansas Urology.
Charlotte Hobbs, MD, PhD, has been named executive associate dean for clinical and translational research and Richard P. Morrison, Ph.D., has been named executive associate dean for research in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).
