The internationally recognized Forum for Shared Governance has announced it has awarded one of its first shared governance accreditations to Conway Regional Medical Center. Shared governance is a management model designed to ensure that clinical staff are the ones making clinical decisions at the bedside, while encouraging them to influence the resources that support them.

In the United States, someone has a stroke every 40 seconds, and one in six people worldwide will have a stroke in their lifetime. The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) urges Arkansans to learn the stroke warning signs, since bystanders often need to act fast in an emergency.

Christopher Lee, MD, has joined the Harvey & Bernice Jones Eye Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).

He will also serve as an assistant professor in the UAMS College of Medicine’s Department of Ophthalmology. Lee specializes in glaucoma.
