Over a 24-hour period beginning early Oct. 2, and ending in the wee hours of Oct. 3, the foundation for UAMS received more than $500,000 for the state’s only health sciences university in response to the second annual UAMS Day of Giving fundraising campaign.

Donations were still being counted when the total hit $518,000.

AFMC has received a grant award totaling $1,902,095 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Health Resources and Services Administration. The five-year project, entitled Primary Care Training and Enhancement: Training Primary Care Champions, will train at least 20 healthcare professionals in leadership, team-based healthcare, practice transformation to value-based care, and expanded use of trauma-informed care.

Gloria Richard-Davis, MD, a fertility and reproductive specialist at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), was the Scientific Program Committee chair at the 2018 annual meeting of the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) that met recently in San Diego.

Arkansas’ children have a healthier tomorrow before them, after the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and Arkansas Children’s signed updated research collaborative and affiliation agreements.

The agreements, which took effect Oct. 1, continue the strategic partnership of the state’s only medical university and the state's only children’s health system.

Afree seven-week program sponsored by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is ready to help smokers kick the habit.

The small-group Freedom from Smoking program will be offered from 5-6:30 p.m. for seven Wednesdays starting Oct. 10 in the Rahn Interprofessional Education Building at UAMS. There is no cost to participate.
