Mercy is providing $500,000 in grants to nearly 30 organizations in seven states that serve children, elderly, homeless, and uninsured people.

Since 1987, Mercy has awarded funds, now totaling more than $15 million, that provide medical care, counseling, housing, meals, and more. This year’s grants will benefit more than 48,000 people.

Baptist Health has adopted the EleGARD Patient Positioning System. The device, from AdvancedCPR Solutions, precisely, rapidly, and consistently positions the patient for CPR and airway management and raises the patient into a multi-level elevation to support the use of an innovative new technique for resuscitation.

September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness month and Arkansas Children’s is asking the community to GO GOLD in support of pediatric cancer awareness and treatment. The Will Golf 4 Kids tournament and Color of Hope Gala committees have committed to raising $5 million to expand services for children with cancer and blood disorders at Arkansas Children’s Northwest (ACNW).  

Over the next five years, funds raised will support the addition of a pediatric oncologist, nurses, and support services staff for the ACNW hematology/oncology program, creating as many as six new positions.

R. Gaines Fricke, MD, has joined Radiology Associates, P.A., after completing a medical degree, residency, and fellowship in interventional radiology from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Ark. He served as the chief resident while there. He will be servicing the company’s central axis locations, which include Little Rock, Benton, Conway, Pine Bluff, and Searcy. Fricke will also perform reading from locations around the state.

Dr. Chandra Lingisetty, an internal medicine specialist at Baptist Health, recently received the Top 100 Healthcare Leaders Award, conferred at the International Forum on Advancements in Healthcare in Las Vegas. 

Lingisetty, a graduate of Harvard University, attended the conference with more than 1,000 healthcare industry experts from around the world.
