In June, Kindred Healthcare, LLC and Mercy announced that they had signed a definitive agreement and created a joint venture to construct and operate a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital, called Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Fort Smith. J. Paul Mounsey, MD, PhD, a nationally recognized leader in the treatment of heart rhythm disturbances (cardiac electrophysiology) has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) as director of its cardiovascular program.
Mounsey is also director of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the UAMS College of Medicine Department of Internal Medicine.
