The cardiology team at Arkansas Heart Hospital today announced that they have successfully performed their first implant using Abbott’s Gallant implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD). This advancement features compatibility with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and Bluetooth communication for a more personalized connection between patients and their doctors.
CHI St. Vincent Infirmary, a participant in the American Heart Association Mission: Lifeline Regional Reports, has received the Mission: Lifeline® Regional STEMI Trailblazer Achievement Award as a part of the Arkansas Region. The award is presented for implementing specific quality improvement measures at a regional level as outlined by the Association for treating patients who suffer severe heart attacks.

In its 52nd year, the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Auxiliary will have its Holiday Card Project. Presented by Slim Chickens, the project features the artwork of current and former Arkansas Children’s patients. This year’s holiday card artists include 12 children who have received care at Arkansas Children’s, plus Arkansas artist Ellen Hobgood as the featured professional artist.
