Angela Wimmer, MEd, who has more than 19 years of fundraising experience, has been named vice chancellor of institutional advancement for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) effective Feb. 11.

The public is invited to the traveling National Institutes of Health (NIH) program that aims to educate and sign up research volunteers March 5 – 8 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).

The NIH All of Us Educational Exhibit and Enrollment Center is part of its nationwide effort to recruit more than 1 million diverse volunteers. Those who join the program will fill out surveys, give their physical measurements, provide blood and urine samples, and allow researchers to track their health over many years.

Two financial officers have been promoted recently at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).

Amanda George, CPA, has been named vice chancellor for finance and chief financial officer of UAMS. George previously served as associate vice chancellor for clinical finance and CFO of the integrated clinical enterprise.

A group to help children cope with a parent’s cancer diagnosis is set to begin March 5 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).

CLIMB, which stands for Children’s Lives Include Moments of Bravery, will be offered from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesdays from March 5-April 16 at the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute.

Dr. Billy Reid McBay, a family practice doctor, has joined Conway Medical Group, a Conway Regional primary care clinic.

McBay has more than 29 years of experience as a family medicine specialist. He is currently in practice alongside Drs. Laura Massey and Jarrett Lea.
