The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has partnered with the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to offer a one-year fellowship in forensic pathology, starting July 1, 2024.

The fully accredited fellowship program, recently approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), is open to physicians who have completed a residency program in anatomic or anatomic/clinical pathology and who are board-certified or board-eligible.

Mercy hospitals in the River Valley have again earned national recognition for their commitment to providing high-quality stroke care. 

The American Heart Association (AHA) is recognizing Mercy Fort Smith with its Gold Plus, Target: Stroke Elite Honor Roll, and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll awards. Recognition is based on 2022 calendar year data submitted.

CARTI announced Kristopher P. Magnuson, MD, as director of anesthesia for its new on-site surgery center. Along with Magnuson, the facility is expected to create 80 new jobs, bringing CARTI’s total employment to more than 950.
