The E. coli outbreak in Northwest Arkansas seems to be past its peak with no new symptom onset reported since Aug. 25.

Participants in the community health worker (CHW) training program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) are now eligible to receive college credit for completing the training, thanks to a partnership between UAMS and the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT).
CHWs are trusted members of their community who work within their communities to help people connect to and access health and social services. They help community members navigate their health care, apply for insurance or Medicaid, and access other vital resources.

The symposium will be offered as a hybrid event in both onsite and virtual formats. For those attending onsite, this event will take place at the Chenal Country Club in Little Rock.
Katie Halsell, APRN, recently joined the Washington Regional stroke program where she provides evaluation and treatment for stroke patients in the hospital.
Halsell earned a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama with a dual focus on acute care gerontology and family nurse practitioner. She has seven years of experience as a registered nurse and previously cared for patients in the Washington Regional emergency department.
