A young, rural Central Arkansas doctor is being recognized by the Pulaski County Medical Society for her anti-bullying efforts and advocating for the mental health of physicians and medical students.
Ally Eruemulor, MD, 39, was given the 2023 Young Physicians Award by the Pulaski County Medical Society for her mental health and minority activism. In addition, she’s been described as an integral part of her community and her clinic, CHI St. Vincent Primary Care-Scott.
The Mena Regional Health System, in support of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Milk Bank, has opened a milk depot in its health center in Mena, Ark.
The Mena Milk Depot is a designated space for women to donate milk, which will be sent to the UAMS Milk Bank for screening, pasteurization, and nutritional analysis. After processing, milk will be sent to hospitals throughout Arkansas.
The Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) Auxiliary has committed $6.25 million in support of the hospital’s largest-ever expansion. ACH Auxiliary president Sara Beth Hughes made the announcement at the 18th annual Miracle Ball held Dec. 9 at Children’s Hall on the ACH campus.
Baptist Health Surgical Clinic of Central Arkansas recently welcomed Jason Mizell, MD.
Mizell was recruited to Little Rock after completing his training in colorectal surgery. He initially practiced at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and was active in education, training surgery residents, and research. He recently made the transition to Baptist Health to focus more on his clinical practice.
CARTI announced that its 47th Annual Festival of Trees raised a record $830,000. Since its inception, the event has contributed well over $10 million to CARTI’s Patient Assistance Program, which offers comprehensive support services to reduce potential barriers to treatment.
