Northwest HealthWelcomes Charles “Chad” Jones III, MD Northwest Health welcomes board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon Charles “Chad” Jones III, MD, to the medi- cal staff practicing at Northwest Orthopedics – Bentonville. Jones specializes in the diagnosis and treat- ment of spine conditions and injuries, including adult degenerative disorders of the spine, com- plex cervical surgery, lumbar and cervical arthro- plasty, trauma and spinal cord injury, and mini- mally invasive spinal surgery. He earned a medical education at Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. After medical school, he completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Ark., and an orthopedic spine surgery fellowship at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Jones is currently accepting new patients. His office is located at 2900 Medical Center Parkway, Suite #300 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Potter and Sanchez Join Washington Regional Brain and Spine Surgery Clinic Madalynn Potter, PA-C, and Rebekah Sanchez, PA-C, recently joined the Washington Regional Brain and Spine Surgery Clinic, part of the J.B. Hunt Transport Services Neuroscience Institute, where they provide care for patients with diseases and disorders of the brain, nervous system, and spine. Potter completed a Master of Science in physi- cian assistant studies at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock and a Bachelor of Science in communication sciences and disor- ders at the University of Arkansas. Sanchez completed a Master of Physician Assis- tant Studies from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth and a Bach- elor of Science in Biology from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. UAMS Accepting Applications for Youths Interested inMASH, CHAMPS Summer Programs The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is accepting applications for two summer enrichment programs that introduce high school students to career opportunities in healthcare. The Medical Applications of Science for Health (MASH) program is a statewide summer day camp for students entering grades 11 and 12. Partici- pants gain exposure to health careers through hands-on activities, tours of healthcare facilities and interaction with medical professionals. Most of the camps run for two weeks, but sev- eral sites plan to host “Mini MASH” camps that condense their activities into a single week. MASH camps will be held at UAMS Regional Campuses or at local hospitals or colleges. The program will be offered this summer in Blytheville, Conway, Crossett, DeWitt, Dumas, El Dorado, Fayetteville, Fordyce, Fort Smith, Harrison, Hot Springs, Jonesboro, Lake Village, Magnolia, Mal- vern, Monticello, Paragould, Pine Bluff, Rogers, Texarkana, West Memphis, and Warren. Students entering grades eight through 10 are invited to participate in the Community Health Applied in Medical Public Service (CHAMPS) pro- gram, which features three- to five-day camps with many of the learning opportunities provided by MASH. CHAMPS will be offered in Crossett and Fayetteville. Camp dates and application deadlines vary based on location. Baptist Health Family Clinic-Sheridan Opens Baptist Health Family Clinic-Sheridan, a ser- vice of Baptist Health Medical Center-Hot Spring County, is now open and seeing patients. Misty Douthit, APRN, will be the primary pro- vider at the location, serving patients Mondays, Tuesday, Thursdays, and Fridays. Douthit has practiced medicine for 15 years and received an education through the University of Memphis family nurse practitioner program. Deonna Whatley, APRN, also sees patients Wednesdays at the clinic. She received a medi- cal education from Harding University.
