Now seeing patients at the Little Rock campus, Kennedy will treat women for conditions related to the cervix, fallopian tubes, ovaries, uterus, vagina, and external genital area. “Patients have asked for our trusted medical team to help them navigate the physical and mental complexities of gynecologic cancers and pre-cancers,” said Scott Stern, MD, chief medi- cal officer. “With CARTI experts like Dr. Kennedy at their side, they know they’ll receive compas- sionate, comprehensive, and leading-edge care.” A gynecologic oncologist, Kennedy is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gyne- cology. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Tulane University and a fel- lowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She received addi- tional gynecologic oncology resident training at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She holds a medi- cal degree from UMass Chan Medical School and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the College of the Holy Cross, where she graduated summa cum laude. Payal Gandhi, MD, Joins Saline Primary Care Payal Gandhi, MD, will be treating patients of all ages alongside Laura Hardin, MD, at Saline Pri- mary Care, previously known as Central Arkansas Family Practice. Gandhi completed a residency in family med- icine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Prior to that, she attended medical school at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences in Karad, Maharashtra, India and completed a res- idency in general surgery at Bharati Hospital in Pune, Maharashtra, India. UAMS Breaks Ground for Orthopaedics & Sports Performance Center The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) recently broke ground on the UAMS Health Orthopaedics & Sports Performance Cen- ter in Springdale. The 115,000-square-foot center will be located in the four-mile stretch of I-49 on the city’s west side, commonly known as the Springdale Care Corridor, which includes a dozen healthcare providers. For several years now, an interdisciplinary team of surgeons and rehab specialists has been pro- viding specialty care at UAMS orthopaedics and sports medicine clinics in Fayetteville and Low- ell, as well as serving as the official sports medi- cine provider for all of the University of Arkansas Razorback athletic programs. The new facility will be the home for all UAMS Health orthopaedic clinics in Northwest Arkansas, as well as sports performance, therapy, and MRI. It will include 20 exam rooms, up to six operat- ing rooms, and eight outpatient recovery beds where patients can stay up to 23 hours if needed. Completion of the UAMS Health Orthopaedics & Sports Performance Center is expected in 2025. Baptist Health Opens NewGastroenterology Clinic in Conway Baptist Health is now offering gastroenterol- ogy services in a location that is closer to home for Conway-area residents with the opening of a satellite clinic. Baptist Health Gastroenterology Clinic-Conway is located at 605 Salem Road, Suite B3, inside Baptist Health Family Clinic-Salem Road in west Conway. Caring for patients at the satellite clinic are Brandy Eason, APN; Sarah Atkins, APN; and Kara “Lindsey” Sierra, APN. Eason, a Star City native, received a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Arkansas (UCA). Atkins, who has lived in Conway for over 10 years, received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from UCA and a master’s degree in nursing sci- ence from the University of Arkansas for Medi- cal Sciences. Sierra, a Clinton native, received a Master of Sci- ence in Nursing from UCA. All three providers are board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
