The Heart Institute provides comprehen- sive congenital cardiac care for a lifetime, from fetal echo interpretation before a baby is born to full support for adults with congenital heart disease. UlricheMcCurdy, MD, Joins CHI St. Vincent Primary and Convenient Care - Chenal in Little Rock CHI St. Vincent announced that pediatrician Ulriche McCurdy, MD, has joined the team of physicians at CHI St. Vincent Primary and Conve- nient Care - Chenal. The clinic is located at 16221 St. Vincent Way. Upon completing medical school at the Ross University School of Medicine in the Common- wealth of Dominica, McCurdy completed a pedi- atric physician residency program at the Uni- versity of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Arkansas Children’s Hospital. She is a board-eligi- ble member of the American Board of Pediatrics. The team of healthcare professionals at CHI St. Vincent Primary and Convenient Care - Chenal specialize in assisting and treating minor ailments such as colds, coughs, infections, minor burns, and allergies. Lauren David, MD, Joins CHI St. Vincent Community Care - East Clinic in Little Rock CHI St. Vincent announced that Lauren David, DDS, has joined the CHI St. Vincent Community Care - East Clinic. David will provide dental care as part of the community clinic’s mission to pro- vide the highest quality healthcare to Little Rock patients, regardless of their financial status. The clinic is located at 2500 East 6th Street. David joins CHI St. Vincent from the DePaul Community Health Center. She earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. She is an active member of the American Dental Association as well as the Arkansas State Den- tal Association. The CHI St. Vincent Community Care - East Clinic recently celebrated its 50th anniversary of community service and compassionate care for Little Rock’s underserved, low-income communi- ties. The clinic provides medical and dental ser- vices on a sliding-fee scale based on a patient’s ability to pay. The East Clinic is part of a spe- cial partnership between the City of Little Rock and CHI St. Vincent. The clinic provides a full range of healthcare services, including primary care, screening and diagnosis, chronic disease management, a pharmaceutical benefit program, and follow-up referrals to the broader CHI St. Vin- cent health system. Ashley Shuffield, MD, Joins Baptist Health Family Clinic-ConwayWest Baptist Health Family Clinic-Conway West recently welcomed Ashley Shuffield, MD, to the clinic’s team of family medicine providers. Shuffield, a native of Stuttgart, received med- ical education from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She completed residency training in family medicine at UAMS Northeast in Jonesboro. “It’s important to me to try to understand where each patient is coming from to fully address their concerns and needs,” she says of her approach to medicine. Arkansas Minority Health Commission Announces Recipients of Minority Health Workforce Diversity Scholarship The Arkansas Minority Health Commission has awarded $26,000 in scholarships to 28 minority students pursuing careers in healthcare and pub- lic health for the Fall 2022 school semester. Part-time students receiving scholarships are Sir-Jason Monroe, Valissia Batemon, both of Con- way; and Taylor Thompson and Vivian White, both of Little Rock.
